A licky-boom-boom down...

Its snowed pretty bad last night. We dropped max off at the p's and then spend 2 hours trying to get home cuz of the blinding snow and all the cars sliding of the road and what not. I was lucky to find a parking spot pretty close to home.

Got my EKG done this morning. Wont find out the results til mid-week or so.

Going back to my parents to pick up max this afternoon.

Little Lex Posted by Hello

Its (going to be) a boy!

Just got back from the Doctors office for Isa's ultrasound. Mad props to MLK Jr. for the holiday, so I didnt have to eat up a vacation day. Anyways, it looks like the baby is going to be a boy... Alexander it is!

I know everyone had their hearts set on having a baby girl around ('cept the Godfather, Rich, whom I suspect was pulling for a godson), but theres always next time for that. Personally, I'm happy to have another boy. It just seems like it would be easier to train boys to follow me in my quest to become the uncontested supreme intergalactic dictator. I would think girls would be more apt to get squeamish at the whole "ruling with an iron fist" thing, what with all the fear and oppression and all...

Anyway, congratulations Isa! Alex is lucky to have you as a mother.

downsized

A company meeting today revealed that my company is planning to relocate its headquarters to Scottsdale, AZ. And that everybodys position at my current location is being eliminated.

Dag.

I got a few months to find another job, but kinda shitty timing with the baby on the way and everything, eh?

I'm not worried... too much. If nothing else the next job I get will definitely be in the city and I can dedicate a little more time to stuff like training.

Training... Oh yeah. I guess in light of current events, dedicating the amount of time necessary to adequately train for the gloves would be irresponsible since that time would be better served looking for another gig. No definite decisions yet. I'll have to discuss things with the home team first.

hapa papa goes to the doctor...

I called in sick and went to the doctor with isa n max today...

got some kick ass (although thanx to crappy prescription coverage, expensive *eff you aetna!*) antibiotics that we'll have to take for the next 5 days. It'll be a miracle if max doesnt get sick.

oooh, and my blood pressure was a little high (120/100) so the doctor asked if i had any conditions he should be aware of and I told him about my pulmonary stenosis, and he was all like "when was your last ECG?" *gulp*...

so i told him its been a couple, maybe ten, years since i got one done and he started scribbling away on his little sheet... geesh.

anyhoo, i have an appointment for an ECG on the 21st. at EIGHT O'FRIGGING-CLOCK in the morning!

good times.

Being sick sucks

Still have'nt shaken this cold. Have'nt trained in days. I am starting to feel a little better, which is good cuz I think the rest of the family is catching my cold and I might need to look after them.

I DID go to Degerberger Thursday night and signed up for a month for 20 bucks on a promotional deal. The people there seemed cool enough. Of course, after the sales pitch I find out that this place would cost me a hundred dollars more per MONTH than the same membership at CFC. Whack. Saving 5 minutes driving time isn't worth that. Plus, CFC is open 24/7.

No news apart from that. Hopefully I'll start training again soon.

Stranded

My car was plowed in nasty-style, so I got to work from home again. Sooner or later I'm going to have to dig it out cuz I am checking out Degerberger later PLUS I need cold medicine pretty bad. My sniffles and itchy thoat turned into what could be the worst cold I've ever had. I feel like absolute shit. I just hope Isa and Max dont catch this.

Snowing like a muggafudda....

Working from home today cuz its snowing so bad outside. Also, feeling a little on the sickly side. Probably a good idea to just rest in lieu of trying to work out.

Degerberger date moved to Thursday

Tonight ended up being a bad night to try to check out Degerberger Martial Arts academy. I called and rescheduled for Thursday.

Tuesday light road/light weights

Wanted to keep it light since I dont know how the workout session will go tonight when I get to Degerberger.

2.5 miles
Flat terrain setting
alternated between paces of 4 and 6

Warmup workout
Just did the warmup sets (1 a piece):
Chest press
Pec deck
Lying side lifts
Standing hammer curls
Tricep pulldowns

Balance/Stretching
Handstanding from different starting points (front, side, back and lying on floor)
Handstand to touching face to floor and holding for 10 seconds and pushing back up to handstand

I didnt plan that last part... it started off as wanting to walk on my hands. And since noone was looking...

Checking out a gym tonight...

I'll be swinging by Degerberger Martial Arts Academy later on tonight. Just to check things out. I need to get into a place that has bags and people to spar, and this one is pretty close to where I live. We'll see how it goes.

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2005!

This year, baby Alex will be born. At this point, we're still not sure on what the gender will be, but we know the name will either be Alexander or Alexa (Yes... we are that uncreative, thank you very much). We find out the sex later this month.

In other news its time to step up the weight loss aspect of my training into high gear. Diet is going to play a role now, along with cardio. Less than a few months now.

Looking forward to a good and exciting year!
